-Show the categories the articles belong to below the articles
-How do we comment an article or see the comments ?
-Show the currently opened categories in the left-hand navigation
-Show the currently opened section in the upper menu
-Avoid 'miscellaneous', use meaningful section titles instead
-Use Headings properly (not for design but for semantic purpose)
-Separate the beginner/advanced categories from the others

There is no H1 nor H2 in the pages. There is one H6, that should actually be an H1, and some H3 that should actually be H2.
H1 is the main title of the page, subtitles are H2. You cannot use H6 if you didn't also use H3, H4 and H5.

Using heading tags should also help a little bit with SEO as headings are an indicator of the kind of content you've got on the page.

I had no clue about css or html when I started this website.

Recently,I had the same comments from the expression engine forum. And I am slowly changing it if you look at the articles in the first page. Since it has been coded in each article, I have to go back and change the H tags in each article.

Hopefully, changing it will get me some more search engine traffic.

It should help, though it's generally considered a minor factor in influencing page rank. It's very easy to change though so should be done. Here's a great list of search engine ranking factors.

After I made the changes, my search engine users went from 1500 to 2500 the next month.

Not sure if this is because of the changes I made to H tags though.

show the grouping the the left navigation.
show after selecting which menu active.
show bredcrumbs.
Show add to favorites button for article.
